BAKALIKO SHOP IN KIFISIA, ATHENS (2005-2006)

This was the first of the two shops designed and constructed for the ‘Bakaliko’ Company of Greece. The brief was asking for a grocery-deli shop with a small restaurant where the daily food could be consumed. The effort was to create a new identity for the company’s shops, a way in planning and decorating the shops, that could adapt the proposed ‘language’ and create a unified look. Details such as the wooden rustic display cupboards, the light fittings made out of large tins or the overhead glass light wells were all aiming at reintroducing the idea of the traditional grocery-restaurant store of the 1950’s in Greece.
